About Unstoppable Moms
Janet Le Camp
My name is Janet Le Camp, and I’m a small town mom! I grew up in a historic waterfront town in Ontario Canada on Georgian Bay, and after living thousands of miles away for many years, that’s where I am today.

When I finished high school, I couldn’t wait to get out of my hometown and into a big city, and I left my home immediately. I worked in Toronto for a time, and then went to college and university, studying Agroecology and Natural Resource Management. After just a few years in the big city, I had figured out that the big city was not for me!
Once I graduated from university, I moved way, way north, to the Yukon Territory, and I lived there for almost twenty years. The north country really is a magical place, with few people and abundant natural wonders. I loved it!

Eventually, I decided to move back to Ontario, and finally found my way back to my hometown on the shore of Georgian Bay. By this time, I had explored many career options and enhanced my educational qualifications with a Women’s Studies Certificate and a Master’s Degree in Community Health.
My beautiful and brilliant daughter was born in the Yukon, and she grew up a Yukon girl. I uprooted her in 2010 when I moved to Ontario, and while the culture shock for both of us was huge, we are now firmly entrenched and relatively happy with small town Ontario life. This didn’t happen overnight!
When my daughter started attending high school in Ontario, it became very evident to me that we had some challenges! Mental health issues emerged when my daughter was a child, and these became more pronounced, as she became a young woman. Addiction entered the picture, and we both struggled for many years. I searched for answers and solutions and help, and grappled with these issues, and tried to cope! I have to say that I didn’t find what I needed for a long time.
Our journeys continued, and we did the best we could with what we had. My own learning and spiritual journey extended over almost a decade, and continues to this day. I didn’t think that I’d see the day where feeling peaceful and happy were the norm, but here I am!
Unstoppable Moms is intended to be a resource and support for other moms like me who have experienced (or are experiencing) challenges beyond the norm and are searching for answers. I hope that you find what you’re looking for! Welcome.
My mission now is to help other moms who are like me to overcome the pain and anxiety, fear and despair of having a child who lives with addiction and/or mental illness.
